Over the past 48 hours, I've been having a problem with unusual CPU use on GMail. Closing the Calendar web app and re-opening it resolves the CPU usage. In the task manager window the CPU usage is associated with tabs (one or more), *not* with plugins. Firefox and Chrome like to trade off on whose acceleration is borderline worthless and breaks websites. have a peek here

My Gmail is configured such that I get logged into chat by default. However, if I open another page on the same tab as GMail, the CPU use drops to only 5% to 10%. Anyway, I'll stick with Canary for now (although it does render some websites pretty strangely). If I try to click a link in any tab at this point, that will usually freeze the tab up so it will not scroll and the link will never load, What Is Gpu Process In Chrome I'd also classify this as a significant quality issue and a 4.0 release blocker.
